S.A.T. Style Reflective Essay: "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring"

The movie "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring" successfully showed me the respect of life. In the movie, there are the master monk, the little monk, and a dog. They live in a Buddhist temple that is built on a raft-like bottom. The weird part was that the temple (or the raft) was on the river in the middle of nowhere. I know that monks try to live apart from the civilized society, but not like living on the river! Thus, the little boy, who seems to be in the age of five to six, doesn't really have much to do. He could get medicinal herb, sleep, or play with the  animals. I can understand him playing with the animals, especially the dog, because I get bored since I'm a human being too, and I really enjoy playing with my pet! But eventually, the boy crosses the line.
One day, the boy decides to go and play with the animals that live in the forests nearby. He catches a fish, a frog, and a snake. So far, it seems to be very reasonable until when he ties them to pebbles that are about the same weight as themselves with pieces of thread! How painful it would've been to those poor poor animals. Eventually, the rock is going to drown them and moreover, kill them. Gratefully, the master saw what the boy has done to the animals and plans to discipline him.
When I was a kindergarten, I had nothing on my mind but a concept that the world was going around ME. So I can understand how the boy acted like so to just have fun. Anyhow, the master decides to do the same thing to the boy... tying him to a rock! And then, he tells the boy to go and rescue the animals in order to free himself. If any of them die, though, he told the little one that he would fell sorry for them throughout his whole life. If my parents or even a teacher did so, I would've got really frustrated and started screaming and cry like a baby.(Of course when I'm the age of six of seven.) On the other hand, the boy begs for an apology and obeys what the master had told him.
The little monk found out that only the frog had survived over night when the others suffered and died. When the boy sought the snake laying on a rock, bleeding to death, he suddenly had a mind to be respectful to others' lives and burst into tears. You see, the master monk is unlike the normal teachers, who orders their students to write 'I'm sorry' all over the front and the back side of A4 page. Students don't even get chances to think about what they're sorry for. However, the master actually gave the boy and opportunity to learn from his mischief and feel and understand others' feeling too. I, too, want to meet the master-monk-like-teacher someday in my life so that I can learn a life lesson from them.

Writing Chain: "Success is" by Class 25

Before going in to my Writing Chain, I first want to briefly talk about how I like it. So, I started off the essay by talking about how success is different to everyone. The 'writers' did a great job following the topic I came up with so I was very happy. It kind of made sense but not 100%.(Nobody's perfect and I know that :P) I also liked how my essay turned out, especially the conclusion. It was very neat and tidy. The essay didn't really change, but the 3rd writer, who talked about how money is like the only success that human can make, didn't really satisfy me. If I had chance to do it differently, I would've talked about different kinds of succeed in many perspectives. Despite the critics from my evil side, the essay actually turned out quiet well. I hope you could enjoy it too. :D

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Success is anything people think it is. Everybody's view of success is different. For instance, terrorists' success might be taking over the whole government of USA, a dog's success might be getting a ot of bones buried under the dirt, or maybe a student's success might be getting A in every subject.
Well, there is a common way to get success. First, it's an effort. If you pay efort on something, nothing might be impossible. For example, in my friend's case, he wanted 90 or more in average on the final exam. I've seen him studying hard very often, and he got what he wanted.
Secondly, success can be reaching your destination, your goal. I want to talk about money. Money is one of the main symbols of the success. The etymology of the word 'success' came from the Latin word 'sucioutixourious', which means 'full of gold'! So basically success is related with money. Look at Bill Gates. We call him 'successor' because he has millons of dollars. Money is one of the most imprtant things in the world.
Lastly, do anything to succeed. But before going to my last tip I want to revise some things that I wrote before. Actually, success is not limited to one side. Thus, we can never say money is the only factor of success. I believe success is more about satisfaction and happiness. Did you actually know that happiness of developing countires are much bigger than those in develped countries? This shows that there are much more important things than money and fame, and it might as well be different to everyone. Okay, going back to achiving success, we should make full effort and do our best for everything. Chasing for succeed is like trying to achieve your goal. It is important to chase for your goal, but if you hurt someone during the process, you should think twice about your desire. If you are chasing for everyone's happiness and your's, that's perfect.
Your success is up to you. How to get it is a mystery. You have to solve on your own. Of course there are people by your side who can help you. Ask them for help, help yourself. It's okay to make mistakes. Wake up and start chasing your goal right now. Good luck!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, did you like it? I surely did :) I think there are some desent writers in our class... no joking. Seriously. I, too, want to be a good writer someday like one of them. Well, as the last writer said, wake up and start chasin' your goal right now! Good luck.

Day 2                                                                                (M)1/3/11

Today is monday. Wow. I've never, ever, ever, and ever woken up so early! Oh, except for the day when my dad and I went to 'High 1(하이원)'. I woke up at 4:30 a.m. that day.. how dreadful! Anyways, I usaully wake up at ... um... *:30.(A.M. or P.M. Try to guess, haha!)It's a.m. LOL  I was worried that I wouldn't be abled to hear the morning-bell. But SURPRISINGLY I just woke up at six. My mom's gonna be so proud of me. I kind of guessed this 'event' would happen because when I was in Canada, my homestay mom would whisper, "Anny, it's time to wake up," like a mosquitto, but I managed to hear it and wake up! On the other hand, when I'm at home, I have like four to six crazly loud alarms that are right bdside my head, ringing wildly. Despite those mind-shaking alarms, I wouldn't hear a THING. Seroiusly.
So yeah... I was once again reassured that if I'm in a new environment, I'm going to be an early-morning-bird. Enough about my... mornign thingy. So, I ate my breakfast and went out the dorm because we were told to.(oh, by the way, I'm in class 20, for temporally.)
We mainly took interviews, lectures, tests... yahdi-yahdi-yah. I liked everyone! Especially our temporary-PA. He TOTALLY looks like Hyoung-Don Jung!(Compare the left and the right pics. the left one is Hyoung-Don Jung, and the right one is the PA! LOL)

Anyways, the teacher who interviewed me asked me if i've ever lived abroad, my family members... and yeah. I forgot. but I really, really enjoyed explainin to him about Canada, which has several characteristics;
1.) I lived there
2.) The interviewer did not know what it was
3.) He is from Canada
Well... I really like him a and he did too. He might like me because I'm his last student to interview!(haha), but he said that he liked how I expressed myself(?!!!) and the..um..(forgetting forgetting forgetting forgot) yeah.. And he said I would just need to do what I did with him for the 2nd interview.(Wow, confusing, isn't it?) After that, I had a dinner with my roomates. I tell you that they are sooooo funny and kind and friendly and trustworthy. Perfect friends. Thanks to that, we go scolded by a PA twice yesterday night because of the noise level. Oh yeah, I think I forgot to tell you that I took a writing test. We(the 7th grader girls...perhaps 8th graders too?) had to hand in 2 formal essays.
Later this night, I was told to go to another interview! And... it flew quiet nicely!(at least that's what 'I' think)
Anyways, I found out that i was in the intensive course!! How happy I was :) I was both joyful but also kind of guilty to my roomates.... T.T
